Born and raised in Hawaii, Ame one’s musical career started when he began playing drums at age 13. It wasn’t until his senior year in high school that he became serious about being a musician and began taking percussion lessons with Hawaii percussionist Donna Oyama. During that same year Ame one received a gold medal for playing a percussion solo in the Oahu Band Director’s Solo and Ensemble Festival and he was selected to play in the Oahu Band Directors Select Jazz Band. After high school Ame one attended university on a music scholarship and tooks lessons from professional jazz drummer Richie Pratt.
Wishing to expand his musical horizons, Ame one began experimenting with computer based music production and audio engineering. When he first began producing music, it was strictly drum n bass with a jazz tip. However these days, Ame one no longer constrains himself to the confines of drum n’ bass but is also producing music in the genres of trip hop, hip hop, nu-jazz, house and breaks.
Ame one is currently working on his second release for SIQ records which involves collaboration with Raystar, and fellow SIQ Artists, Nomar Slevik, Id Obelus and Cyrus FX.
