I got a pretty busy couple of weeks ahead of me. In no particular order I have to work (blah), finish up some graphics, start a new project and do some promotion.
First thing that needs to get done is finish the design of the “Stonehenge Diaries” cd art. Almost done with that. I just have to do a couple of small changes here and there. Shouldn’t take more than 10 min unless I go crazy. After I get it sorted, I have to put it on the template and send off to SIQ for their final additions. I been putting this off for a day so I better get it done soon hopefully today.
Tuesday is the release of the stonehenge cd. Which means I got to do some promotion. Send copies to people and post it up on here. In addition I will have to upload it to several social networks and other places. That is such a chore sometimes. This time I’m going to narrow the list down compared to when I did it the “Ame one and The Depressed Robot.” I was uploading that everywhere that I could. However, that just seemed to kind of be a waste outside of the big social networks and music sites.
The next thing is start this new project that has been handed to me. I’m going to be mixing down an ep for SIQ. I can’t wait to start but the SIQ ftp server is super slow. I’m downloading the 6 gig project folder and I still have about 9 hours left. I been downloading it for about day already. So damn slow!! This project should be fun though. I volunteered my name as a last resort and I guess it came down to that. Apparently the artist did not want the usual mixer for SIQ stuff. This left a problem because all the other people they wanted were either too expensive or lacked ProTools to do it. I hope that my little LE system will be able to handle it. I would really prefer not to have to buy the Digidesign extension to give my system more tracks. There are 2 reasons for this. 1. I don’t want to spend the money on it. 2. I don’t want to spend the money on it knowing that ProTools 8 is around the corner with more tracks and there is a new extension that allows for more tracks that only works with 8. Quite a inconveience i think. Oh well if anything I guess I’ll have to do it the old way of having to make commitments early on in order to free up tracks.
That’s pretty much the next week or so activites.
